My daughter Nadine was looking forward to our vacation in Philippines for a long long time since she have tasted the Eight O'Clock Dalandan juice that Ate Erlie gave us and let us drink a few during our Espasol lecture. There were so many choices, melon juice, pomelo, calamansi, dalandan plus the original orange, grape and other juice. Nadine even thought of asking me to make several ice candies for her and her cousins and playmate, which I didn't find very hard to do.
I bought a few ice candy plastic and 3 sachets of juice with different flavors -- pineapple, melon and dalandan. Nadine is very excited as I was. There's a nearby store that sells ice candy for Php2.00. When I was a little girl it used to be .25 cents now 25 years later it's already that much. There's no need for her to cross the street and buy only a few for her to enjoy.
My daughter couldn't help but get excited that she checked on our freezer almost every hour to see if the 24 pieces of dalandan ice candy is already frozen. I also made a few milo flavoured ice candy for Namji.
Few hours passed, when my husband and I just get back from town, I already saw of our younger cousin's eating dalandan flavored ice candy just outside our terrace. I couldn't help but smile as I saw my daughter coming out from the kitchen holding several ice candy on her hand. Her little brother Namji was trailing her. Even my mother in law were having her own share too that's why my husband and I grabbed our own and enjoy the afternoon heat with our ice cold candy.
God Bless!
