Eat All You Can - Pinoy Merienda

It's a feast, it's like a jungle inside Barrio Fiesta. It was really crowded. Everyone couldn't help but stare at the food served in the buffet table. Food that I really missed, actually, we all missed so much. Puto bumbong, bibingka, biko (biko), halo-halo, ginataang bilobilo, almost all the Filipino delicacies were there, especially my favorite ube halleya. We just Php 90/head what more can you ask for? Eat all you can pa sya? This would be our first time out of Alulod, our first time dining out. We really missed Chowking and Jollibee however we figured, my husband and I, that we missed it very much eating pinoy kakanin's or delicacies. Or whatever it is they called them. All we know was, it's very delicious, nakakabusog.

I got pancit palabok, pichi pichi, pandesal (though I didn't get to miss this that much since my kumareng Anna made this sometimes), puto bumbong and this white kakanin made from malagkit or sticky rice that has brown sugar and dessicated coconut. I've been having problems munching this when Eureka! It's palutong. My father used to cook this during New Year's eve for good luck. Arvin had the same thing as mine except for his favorite tokwa't baboy (tofu and pork drenched in soya sauce. My 2 kids got spaghetti's on their plate and banana con yelo (this is their favorite. I get to serve them banana con yelo in Malaysia during weekends as I only then had the chance to buy saging na saba in Super Kinta every Saturday). Sabi nga ni Nadine after eating so many saging (banana) con yelo " Wow I'm all poofed out!" Translation : BUSOG NA AKO!

My son Namji also loves eating the banana con yelo. I ate so many puto bumbong and ube haleya. Both purple in color (purple is my favorite!). I just tasted a few bites of biko, bibingka and halo halo. I have a few friends of mine in Ipoh who can cook those kakanin. In fact I even learned making some of them too. We really pigged out (if there ever was a term). Even if some of the puto bumbong and ube haleya got stucked in between my braces. Nothing can stop me.

After several turns of going back to the buffet table I finally gave up. I give a few left over to my husband so that we wouldn't be charge extra on them. That's what I've been led to believe if you're dining at an-eat-all-you-can restaurant. Not sure on this though but to be save, I know my husband can finish them all for me.

Soon as we're home none of us were able to have dinner as we all of us were still full from the eat all you can pinoy merienda.

God bless!
